Friends - Welcome to the official kickoff of Spring in North Central Texas. Today, I spent the morning mowing knee-high grass in my backyard, the afternoon keeping one eye on the sky, one eye on KTVT (and my favorite photojournalist!), and one eye on the safe room in our house as tornado sirens blared throughout Burleson for half an hour, and now, the sun is shining, all is well, and I’m in front of the computer typing our latest newsletter. Not too bad…for a Monday. At Christ Journey Church

Ozarks Trout Fishing

Here’s a quick excerpt
By Rod Davis At a business meeting in February in Nashville, I was invited for the second time to the White River in Arkansas for a weekend of trout fishing. The first invitation, I had let slip by, but I was determined to accept this time. I was invited by “ Big Dave” Storm, CEO and founder of Storm Showers of Cookeville, Tennessee. It turns out his brother, Paul is a full time guide in Salesville, Arkansas, on the Norfork River. I did not know much about the area, only that I had once read

A Review of DCS Grilling Systems

Here’s a quick excerpt
DCS, short for Dynamic Cooking Systems, is a company that makes just what its name suggests - Dynamic Cooking Systems that can change a boring backyard barbeque into a party paradise. DCS grills are designed for the professional and at prices starting at around $2,000, a new DCS grill may not fit the budget of a fly by the seat of their pants grill master.  A DCS grill requires commitment to excellence in all things grilled.   Why not consider a grill that can make you look and feel like a pro

The gluten free Paula Deen?

The Cattle Call wrote an interesting post today on
Here’s a quick excerpt
Today I was digging for some info on ‘hamburger soup recipes’ and came across the following paragraph: I am reconsidering my self-appointed nickname of “The Gluten Free Paula Deen.” I guess I didn’t realize how many people really, really don’t like ol Paula from All-benny Georgia. In fact, if the comments I’ve been reading about her lately are true, she’s becoming almost as unpopular as Rachel (YUM-O) Ray. Don’t get me wrong — I still watch her every night and weekends, too. And I recogniz
